Liré is a collaborative work and document management system. It consists of a "living" document repository that changes and evolves under the control of its users. Liré allows the sharing, management, and reuse of knowledge effectively and efficiently. Liré was developed and is used by researchers at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. It began with several years of research on practices of information creation, organization, exchange, and use, both on a day-to-day and a long-term basis. Liré allows for the evolution of documents, information, and related processes. Studies have confirmed the need for personal, collective, and organization-wide information spaces, supported by a virtual library assistant. |
|
| Multiple classification |
Documents can be categorized in multiple hierarchies, allowing each
user to maintain his or her own organization scheme.

also allows user annotations on documents.
| |||||

users to link documents (along with comments) to indicate they are
related. You can search over the content of the document, metadata
attributes, and keywords.

structures. Creates multiple versions of documents, and impose a
"check-in/ check-out" locking system to ensure consistency.
